A significant upgrade over my 55" model, offering a substantial price point with a similar size, making it a compelling option for those seeking balance without sacrificing image quality entirely.

While not as impressive as the latest OLED displays on the market, this TV delivers an excellent viewing experience thanks to its superior sound system for nearby speakers and vibrant colours that are decently represented by modern colour gamut standards. The picture is quite good in terms of darkness and contrast ratio, although it's not quite on par with a genuine high-end OLED panel. Implementing local dimming effectively reduces blooming around strong contrasts, but there's still room for improvement.

The software experience is generally smooth and responsive, with the option to easily navigate through various features without encountering any significant hiccups. Overall, I've been impressed by its performance in these areas, suggesting that it will be a solid choice for those seeking a reliable and feature-rich TV without breaking the bank.

When considering upgrading to this TV, it's essential to realize that not plugging the UHF antenna-in will make a significant difference in your viewing experience.

In my opinion, the free version of Freely works adequately, but it falls short of its potential due to some noticeable bugs. However, compared to the previous model, which seemed like an afterthought, this new TV is a substantial improvement.

One notable benefit is that Freely uses streaming versions of the channels you watch, which results in a latency of around 15-20 seconds from what's being sent over UHF. This may seem minor, but it can make a difference when watching live events or sports.

In terms of picture quality, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the more "minority" channels have improved significantly compared to the previous model. The only drawback is the presence of 5Action, which is subpar, but this is relatively rare.

One feature that sets Freely apart from its competitors is its ability to automatically identify your local options and hide unnecessary channels when not needed. This saves time and can be a huge advantage for those who want a hassle-free viewing experience.

While UHF transmission may not be as reliable as some other antennas, it's still capable of providing high-quality TV in most situations. However, I do need to admit that the picture quality is not significantly better than what I'm used to with my current set.

One interesting aspect of this TV is its ability to run Android software underneath the bonnet, which means you can install other applications and extensions to enhance your viewing experience. Additionally, adding a USB webcam makes it easier to make voice calls using Alexa without having to shout at the device from across the room.

In my case, I'd recommend replacing this soundbar with one that offers better speakers, as the ones on this TV are not particularly impressive. Overall, I think this TV is worth considering for those looking to upgrade their viewing experience without breaking the bank.
