I was pleasantly surprised by the value proposition offered by Blink Outdoor Cameras. The price point was unbeatable, and the ease of setup made a big impact on my decision to purchase them. The cameras are reasonably easy to set up, and they work well in low-light conditions with good picture quality even during the golden hour.

One thing that caught me off guard is the zoom quality - it's not as robust as I expected for a product marketed as an outdoor camera. While it does provide decent zoom capabilities, it can struggle to read license plates from a distance of 10 meters. That being said, the WiFi range of cameras is relatively good, especially when mounted indoors.

I've been able to get the cameras working with my sync module by adjusting the mount and positioning it in different locations. However, I've encountered some issues getting them to work consistently with the sync module, which has led me to explore alternative mounting options.

The cameras themselves are well-built for indoor use, but I'm not convinced they're suitable for outdoor conditions like high winds or heavy rain. That being said, I did manage to secure a mount that allows easy access to the camera, and I've added some extra protection by covering the lens with a rubber cover. Unfortunately, this cover doesn't fit perfectly, so I had to make a small incision.

The power adapter is of reasonable quality, but it may not be robust enough for high-wind conditions. Time will tell if these cameras can withstand the Scottish winter weather.

In my opinion, Blink Outdoor Cameras are more suited to indoor use than outdoor applications like this. If they were marketing them as an external camera, I would have appreciated a better quality mount and bracket that could house and secure the cameras on walls and eaves of the home.
