On the other hand he did not spare the choir organ. Although it was not destroyed by fire it was very badly damaged by the water poured into the choir throughout the night by the firefighters who saved the cathedral. Made in 1992 subject of this reissue this recording - the only one devoted to this organ as such - is therefore an exceptional testimony to what its sound image was like before the fire.
