The moment my PC booted into Windows, I was blown away by the vibrant colours - you really do notice the quality and immersive contrast. It's also worth noting that the 240hz refresh rate allows for high-octane action in games to look absolutely smooth if your PC can deliver the necessary frame rates. Being a flat panel, it didn't feel like a disadvantage at all.
I spent a long time researching what OLED monitor I wanted to get to replace an old 27" LCD, having been seduced by the widely reported high-refresh rates and eye-popping colours that OLED monitors can offer. If you are putting down multiple hundreds of pounds on a new monitor, the number one reason for doing so is because of the picture - and this monitor is just gorgeous in operation.
As soon as I toggled on HDR, I was blown away by the beauty of the panel going to a whole new level. The 321 OLED monitor has a truly amazing panel that will make you look at games and other media consumption with a new-found appreciation. It's also the case that the 240hz refresh rate allows for high-octane action in games to look absolutely smooth if your PC can deliver the necessary frame rates.
The panel is also a thing of beauty in itself - if you can ever refer to a monitor in such a way! The bezel is just so slim and the depth of the monitor being so thin means that it really feels like a statement in your PC area that looks classy and stylish.
It was extremely easy to set up the monitor, I didn't use the supplied base, preferring to mount it to a VESA monitor arm that's attached to my desk. The ports on the back of the monitor cover a wide array of potential video inputs - this is was extremely straightforward (aided by the monitor being quite lightweight) and in addition, the USB upstream connector allows you to trade one USB port on your PC for two.
The only thing that took me a moment was to realise that the "on-off" button isn't immediately obvious. I had scratched my head for several minutes before I had looked online and found where the button was - once turned on, you rarely have to touch it again, as the monitor will automatically wake up or sleep when connected to a PC.
In terms of little touches, I also appreciated the in-built USB upstream connector, which allows you to trade one USB port on your PC for two that come out of the monitor. This is very handy in practice for your USB peripherals - a final concern I'd had was in relation to text not being properly displayed for office work.
The monitor can deliver a 90w USB-C output (but I haven't used this), it's also completely silent in operation - no fan, and my experience is that this is a complete non-issue. A firmware update (which my 321 had already had installed) means that you do have more control over when this cycle happens.
The monitor lacks any audio output via in-built speakers, but if you are buying a monitor in this bracket you are not going to be wanting to rely upon tinny monitor speakers - text not being properly displayed for office work was also a concern I had. However, the QD aspects of the panel mean that in practice there is no problem at all with the clarity of text when using its full native 4K resolution.
