My partner was adamant that I needed something more dignified than my trusty old shoe box, given our bird collection's reputation for causing quite a ruckus. But as a seasoned enthusiast, I knew what I was getting into - a soft and secure bird carrier with no sharp edges or bars to worry about. In early summer 2023, I took the plunge and purchased this high-quality bag in anticipation of using it on our epic road trip to collect some adorable doves.

As fate would have it, plans fell through and we went unused for nearly a year until August 2024, when we finally put it to good use. The design is a masterclass in functionality - the zips are strong and secure, with an easy glide that won't leave you struggling to close them. But what really impressed me was how well these mesh panels work together to provide ventilation, heat escape, and privacy coverage for our tiny feathered friends.

The removable padded floor insert uses velcro to keep things in place and provides a comfortable and safe surface for the birds to land on, as well as easy access after use. And don't worry about messy seed-laden situations - the mesh folds back and creates a tidy little compartment that keeps everything contained. I did notice that there are three holes at the front, but none of my bird friends dared to poke their beaks through.

One thing that would make this bag an absolute dream to store is its clever positioning system with three holes for perches - while it's perfect for smaller birds or those with shorter tails, our larger mates seem to prefer sticking their head out on the floor. Overall, I'm thoroughly enjoying my new bird carrier and feel confident that it will be a trusted companion for many more adventures together.

My partner has even been admiringly eyeing it from afar - if only we had a place to store it properly, we'd both be thrilled! Until then, this bag remains intact in our cupboard, ready for its next adventure with the birds.

I purchased this carrier a week ago with two lovebirds and was quite impressed overall, despite some minor issues. The build quality is excellent, with a solid feel that suggests sturdiness, but I did find the weight to be slightly noticeable at first. When it comes to assembly, it's actually quite easy, although I do wish there were more detailed instructions included in the packaging.

One of my biggest concerns was the folding feature - while it works well for storing food and water, I found that the dowel perch was a bit too smooth for comfort, making it difficult for the birds to sit on it. The base itself is sturdy, but when they tried to climb up onto it, their claws would occasionally slip off.

I also think the design could be improved - having clip-on bowls would have been fantastic, as it made feeding and caring for the birds a much smoother experience. In its place, I was able to use some of my own household items, but it's definitely not ideal. A nice addition that might come in handy in warmer months is an adjustable strap for carrying the cage on backpacks.

All things considered, however, this carrier has been an absolute delight to use - and with a little patience, I think both birds will have no problem adapting to their new home.
