However, after only six months of use, I found myself relying on a different razor - one that used gel. This wasn't just a matter of convenience; it became an essential part of my daily routine.

The 'two year blade life' claim was indeed overstated in my experience, and I soon discovered that I needed to upgrade to Philips replacement blades in order to maintain even the slightest amount of shaviness.

I've since invested in genuine Philips replacement blades, which cost around £25 per set. While they may be an investment, I believe they're worth it - they provide a far superior shaving experience to the original unit.

When my shaver failed me, and I found myself reaching for something cheaper, I couldn't help but think twice about purchasing another Philips product in the future. However, based on my own research into different options, I'm considering giving Braun or other alternatives a try instead.
