I was really excited to try the Remington Keratin Protect Intelligent Hair Straightener, especially because of its innovative heat-sensor technology that adjusts temperature based on your hair's moisture levels. In theory, this should reduce damage and give smoother results. The technology does work well, which is a nice bonus.

However, after using it for a couple of times, I noticed a problem with the grease-like marks building up along the edges of the plates. These were exactly as shown in the picture - residue, not from hair products. This was a surprise, and I'm not sure why this is happening. I have used straighteners from other brands without any issues like this before.

It looks like the plates themselves are causing these problems. I've had no problem with other straighteners that claim to be "premium" and designed to protect hair. The issue only started after I first used it, and now I need to wipe the plates clean every time to prevent this from happening. This is frustrating because this product was marketed as a high-quality option.

Despite its advantages - the heat-sensor technology, keratin coating, and ease of use - the grease-like residue marks are hard to ignore. The straightener's bulky design also doesn't help matters. Overall, I'm not sure if this straightener is worth the hassle it causes me.
